Recycle 5k Fun Run..

Since Joe ran a half marathon last year he has been loving them. Me not so much. I don't mind short distances but really hate long distance running. Always have...
Joe had heard from a friend that Bountiful City is doing this Recycle Fun Run to get rid of t-shirts and medals from previous races. It was cheap and thought it would be fun for the whole family to do.. It was fun, but tiring since I haven't done anything all winter and so to say the least the next day I was SORE! But we had a lot of fun getting through it and even in the rain..
Blake was so cute! Once we got in the car he put his shirt on he got (which matched his medal) and also wore his medal the rest of the day without taking it off and into the next day. I think he definitely felt like he worked hard for this one and was not taking it off..

Spring Break 2013..

So this year was different with Spring Break. The twins didn't really have one because of year round and so because Patrick is in Junior High now he gets a week off. It was nice to be able to have some one on one time with him again and do stuff we enjoy. We didn't do something every day, but almost... We had lunch one day. Went shopping for some new shorts for him another day. And then our big adventure was going down to Salt Lake and seeing the Mummies exhibit at the Leonardo. This place is really neat and unique by itself, but seeing the Mummies they had was even cooler. They wouldn't allow photos to be taken in the exhibit so this is as much as I got. The rest of the pictures are when we toured the rest of the Leonardo. At the end Patrick had to run up this long bridge to the top. It was really neat and quite the view from the top...

Special Days...

On Saturday March 2, 2013 we had the opportunity to go and be a part of our closest and dearest friends (Tom and Jen) sealing in the Salt Lake Temple. It was so sweet and emotional to see them be sealed together and then to there two boys. I always love to see this! It is even sweeter when its someone you are close too. They had several friends and family members that came and then after they had a nice luncheon at there home..

Christmas 2012....

So, I am finally getting around to posting about Christmas. My parents were able to come up and share Christmas with us. We were so excited! It had been a while since we had seen them and the boys love when they come to visit. 2 days after Christmas I started to get the usual sore throat, body ache and a little congestion. Well fast forward now about 2 1/2 weeks later and had basically been laid on my back with this. I finally went to the doctor and found out I had a really bad sinus infection. Thank goodness in a way because if it was still just a cold I couldn't take much more. So, I got some antibiotic and have been so much better... Love the meds that can help get better faster.
Christmas day this year was so fun... The boys got everything they pretty much wanted and it was a big Minecraft year. If you know what that is then you know it was exciting.. The boys also got a lagoon pass (when they open in the spring) from my parents that they were so excited about. My dad since he has retired is fishing a lot. My mom wanted to get him a new fishing pole and so I decided to make this fishing bait kit. I think it turned out so cute! And he will love it when he is fishing. My mom this year we got pretty good.  Me and Joe and my dad both got her gift cards but to make it seem like it was more we took these really big boxes and taped the gift card into another box and wrapped it in the big box. Needless to say it was pretty funny when she opened it up. I had to laugh even more because she said to me watch I bet those boxes only have gift cards in them... Yep.. GOT  YA..
We also gave my parents an array of BYU stuff that we got at the new Gordmans store here. They ended up having all there BYU and Utah stuff 50% off the clearance price the one day we went in there. So you could not beat these prices. Hats $5.00, t-shirts $3.50, nice jackets for $11.00. I got my mom a shirt and these cute slippers for $5.00. Felt like we were stealing it, it was so cheap.
Joe had to work Christmas Eve but then was off a little earlier so we could enjoy the rest of the evening. We went around and looked at some Christmas lights. And enjoyed one house that really decorates it and then has a story of Jesus that you tune into the radio and listen to. It was such a perfect ending to the night, besides the hot chocolate...
It was a nice Holiday and loved having family around at this time. We are also so grateful for everything we have. With our health, shelter, food, work and our dear friends and ward family that help us out so much since we don't have family around. We are looking forward to this new year and hope it will also be a good one.

Fun Times... But busy times....

So, its been a few weeks now and I got my life back. Now I know what it would of felt like had I gone into party planning as a job. I am on the Relief Society board for Enrichment and we were having our meeting one sunday in November for our R.S. Dinner. As we were having it our Bishop came by and said I need to talk to you. Usually thats not good... Well in some ways it wasn't. But he had asked if I would be willing to help with another lady in our ward to decorate for our Ward Christmas Party. So of course I said YES because I was excited to be able to do something nice and fun. The only thing that then turned it around was he asked us to make the centerpieces for every family to be able to take home. Ok, I am saying how many are you planning on. Oh, the Bishop says around 120 families. What! Was really my reaction and then what did I sign on for. As my mind started to think of all this it sunk in that both parties were the same week with in 2 days of each other... Crazy! But actually as it came along I was happy they were because now they were both done and I could get my life back and focus on the Holiday, my boys and my house again. Luckily we weren't doing anything big for our R.S. Dinner so it actually made it nice to just focus mostly on this.
I am the worst at remembering to take pictures. So I didn't get pics of the R.S. Dinner but it was nice and simple, but still took time to put together, show up and help with decor and food.
After 2 weeks of prep and 4 1/2 hours of setting it up before the ward party it all came together and looked great! We went with a Winter Wonderland Theme and it was beautiful. The pictures really don't do it justice. Nothing is like being there. We did 3 different vases with branches in them and then also made a ornament with baby Jesus in them. Yes, we did have a lot of help with all of this. I am super woman but I'm not that good.. Lol. Our entertainment for the night was different skit acts and Patrick was in one of them. All of the Young Men had done this act earlier for the Young Women in Excellence they had in November so they re-did it again for this night which I was so happy they did so we could see him. He did a good job and can actually dance... We video recorded it and of course we both were so into watching it forgot to take pictures.. It was a fun night. But I am happy it is over..

Foam boards I made up and then painted with chalkboard paint to write these sayings on them for the snowflakes that were around them. All of the primary children made a snowflake to put up on the board..

The Ornament..

My wonderful partner in all of this Rainee... She is the one in the sweater taking pictures as well..
