Patrick, in 5th grade now experienced his first Science Fair. Man he is getting old and growing up to fast.. crazy! They were told to come up with a concept and then try it out at home and do up a board to display. Next year in 6th grade they actually have to bring the project and have it on display to show how it worked.. will be interesting. This year Patrick chose to do it on "Does or can water Glow". So, Thanks to the internet, we found out this project and tried it out. It was interesting to see how the different inks from highlighters glowed under a black light. We also tested the Theory that Tonic water glowed under a black light and sure enough it does do a blue glow. People use the Tonic water to put in drinks for parties and put a black light in the room and it will glow. They were also judged on this and even though he didn't place he got a ribbon for Honorable Mention,(basically for doing it) which was fine with me. As long as he got the credit he needed for doing it I was happy and so was he.
