Our 4th of July festivities.. We were going to go to the Kaysville parade in the morning and then as we headed that way decided with the thousands of people there was going to be no way were getting a decent spot to see it. So, after some thought we decided to head down to Thanksgiving point in Lehi. We had been before but didn't get to see all of it. This time we thought it would be a nice day to spend it there. It was the perfect day. It ended up being overcast and a little cooler and with the Holiday it wasn't very crowded, just perfect... We had the option of walking or renting a golf cart and because these grounds are huge and takes a while to walk it all, we thought it would be best to rent a cart, that way the boys would enjoy it more and we wouldn't have to hear them complain and ruin it for us.. best decision ever.
If you have never been to Thanksgiving Point and there Gardens I HIGHLY recommend it. It was so beautiful and just so many different things to see and so many different smells. The main garden is the 1st set of pictures and then there is a children's garden that is down the road that the kids can run through mazes and tunnels and all different things, they LOVED it! After enjoying the gardens for most of the day we then went and saw Green Lantern. I thought it was ok, not the best block buster movie this year. I thought Transformers was a lot better..
We then stopped in Salt Lake and had dinner and then headed home to watch the fireworks from our back deck. The neighbors around us have been crazy letting them off with the new rules, so we get a great show every night... I think I will be sick of listening to them by the end of the month, but they are cool to see.
