Christmas Day... 2010!

The boys coming down stairs for the first time Christmas morning and then collapsing at the sight of it all.. Then the opening begins...

Jake lost his tan dog this summer on our trip to Ohio. He had left it in one of the Hotel rooms and no one ever called us on it and he has been so sad since then, so I found the same dog (sort of, close enough) with a new friend too now.. he was so happy to see his old friend back.

Patrick loving his new Steeler slippers, that Dad ended up stealing for the day and now I have to get him some..
A Spongebob Hockey Table.. they are loving it! Well worth the no sleep the day after Thanksgiving to get it.
Joe grinning from ear to ear getting the one gift he has wanted FOREVER and I finally got it.... a griddle to cook his pancakes on. As you can see is was so happy!

I myself did get some great things also. Finally a stand mixer, some new slippers, a new sweater, a new cricket cartridge and a few other things. I never look very good on Christmas morning so I am not posting pictures of me on here to remember forever, we have a few pictures for that.

Christmas Eve..

After we came home from looking at the lights we always watch a Christmas Movie and it usually is Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase.. makes me laugh so hard every time. We then opened the usual PJ's present and one from Grandma and Grandpa Truman (since they weren't coming this year) and then it was off to bed. Me and Joe then became Santa and got everything laid out and were actually in bed by 11:00 pm. That hasn't happened in years.

Joe got home at a decent hour this Christmas Eve, so we went to dinner and then decided to go and check out the lights they have in downtown Ogden. There are a bunch of these little houses with things in them and then just lights everywhere. It is nice to walk around and look at. We sort of hurried this year through it because we were all really cold..

Here comes Santa... 2010

Just another reason why I love living in Syracuse.. On Saturday morning we were doing some things outside and I hear this loud siren and I thought oh no I wonder what's happened cause it's really close to the house. Then all of a sudden I realized by the way it was sounding it had to be the Santa that comes around every year on the fire truck. So, I got the boys (pj's and all) to get there shoes on and come see him and so of course they were so excited ran out just in time to see him turning the corner by our house and so as you can see they were running and waving and also running for the taffy that he throws to the kids. They also got to see him when he came back on the other road down from the house.
Later that day we went to Artic Circle for lunch and when we walked in there was a Santa they had there greeting all the kids and you could sit on his lap and tell him what you wanted. He was so life like it was crazy and of course I didn't have my camera with me cause he would of been a perfect picture.. But, it was a good day of seeing Santa cause the boys had been complaining they hadn't seen Santa this year yet and could we go somewhere to see him. So, Thank goodness for the Santa's everywhere on Saturday, otherwise I would of had to make a trip to the mall.

Burner Covers part 2..

I finally finished the other burner cover projects I was wanting to do. The first ones I spray painted a couple different colors and then I drew some lines for the cars to go between. I found a few weeks ago in the dollar bins at Target the cars and they were even magnetic already so I was excited about that. The boys seem to really love them, (who new a homemade gift would be that exciting). I then turned another one into a tic tac toe game (my boys love to play this) and so when I saw it I thought it would be perfect for them just like the car tin so that when we travel they have something to do.

Christmas Craft Project..

About a month ago, I was watching studio 5 and on there craft segment they had this lady on there to explain some cute ideas on the stove burner covers and recreating different things out of them. One of them was she made a Christmas card holder, and because this year I was needing something like that, I thought it would be cute to make one. It was so simple and didn't turn out to bad. The project was inexpensive and the burner covers you can actually get at the dollar store for a dollar and I know some dollar stores sell them 2 for a $1.00, so its cheap and cute. I am still amazed and love that some people can take the simplest thing and turn it into something crafty and useful. She also made games and about a million other ideas for this one thing. I am going to be making the games soon and when I'm done all post them, but you can also check her out on her blog for more ideas, brassyapple.blogspot.com.
