Surprise!
As you can see from this picture she was surprised..
Joe's parents recently celebrated there 50th Wedding Anniversary and me and Joe got the opportunity to fly back and celebrate with them. My parents were kind enough to come up and watch our boys while we were gone. There anniversary is on May 5th, but because we were flying in that day and other obligations with family they celebrated it on Sunday night. They had it at a restaurant called Davidson's. We had a buffet style meal of stuffed chicken, green beans, salad and of course pasta. His mom was so funny and kept saying to me and Joe all day there better not be a party! I don't want a party just us and my kids thats it. Because me and Joe were in charge of bringing them to the surprise party we kept saying we are just having dinner at this restaurant and as far as we know thats it we kept saying so that we would not ruin it. It was so hard.. But we made it through and she was surprised and overwhelmed. After the surprise and after everyone ate Chaz (brother-in-law) stood up to say a few words, then Frankie (older brother), David (brother) and his 2 sisters Mary and Colleen along with Joe got up and also shared special moments. There was a lot of crying and laughing which made it so special to hear each one give there own moments and memories of there parents. They then cut there cake that Mary, Charles (her son) and Tonya made. They also fed each other without a big mess and it was very cute. After cake and some wonderful cupcakes that Charles made (he is the best), they opened up some gifts. And one of the gifts was these cute t-shirts that said I survived 50 years with him/her. The cutest thing ever.. I think if you have been with someone that long you have really survived..
I just want to give a big Thank you to Mary and Family, Colleen and Family and everyone else that made this wonderful day so special. I wish we could of helped out more, but being so far away it is hard. It was so nice to of been a part of the day and celebrating there 50 years together. Love you Mom and Dad.
(forgive the bad pictures, we need a new camera)
